In black, sown by 18 gold and green-leafed maize spikes (5, 4, 5, 4), loaded with the Red Cross of the Temple.
Mural crown of five silver towers.
Yellow and green flag, cords and tassels.
White ribbon with black letters.
Golden spear and pole.
The field is considered black, for to this enamel corresponds the land, and Paços de Ferreira feeds off the land. Moreover, black means firmness and honesty. The gold spikes with the green foliage are the enamels that Nature itself gives them, gold also meaning nobility, allegiance and power, and green meaning hope and faith.
The Cross of the Temple is red (an allusion to the Templars living in this region). Since the pieces representing local wealth are the spikes and their foliage of green and gold, the flag, the cords and the tassel must be green and yellow. As there is gold in the composition of the arms, so the pole and spear must be golden as well.
The five silver towers mural Crown means that Paços de Ferreira owns the category of City.
Risen to the category of City under Law no. 24/93 of the Assembly of the Republic, published in the Republic Journal.
